Honeydew Margarita
Variations on classic margaritas are endless. This summery twist adds fresh honeydew juice for a drink that’s vibrant, sweet and refreshing.
Fresh lime juice or simple syrup
Tajin or salt
Ice
2 ounces fresh honeydew juice
½ teaspoon simple syrup
1 ½ ounces tequila
1 ounce fresh lime juice
First, prepare the glass. Add lime juice or simple syrup to a small plate. Dip the rim of a glass in it until coated, then dip into salt or tajin to garnish. Add ice to the glass, and set aside until cocktail is mixed and ready to pour.
In a cocktail shaker, add ice, honeydew juice, simple syrup, tequila and lime juice. Shake until cold and frothy, 1-2 minutes. Strain into prepared glass, and serve.
Honeydew Juice
Purchase honeydew juice at specialty stores, or make it yourself by blending chunks of ripe honeydew with a couple of cups of water and a tablespoon of lime juice, then strain through a fine-mesh strainer.
