Meet the Winners: Meet Birdy
Congratulations to Birdy, a friendly dog who found her forever home after losing her original owners.

Name: Birdy
Owner: Ella Smith
Breed: Cocker Spaniel / King Charles Spaniel
Age: 2 (turning 3 Dec. 23)
About Birdy: Birdy was 8 months old when Ella adopted her after her original owners died. She ended up at the vet hospital where Ella works and eventually became Ella’s. She started with the name Harley, but it didn’t quite fit, and she quickly became Birdy, short for “Bird Brain,” which matched her quirky personality perfectly, according to Ella.
“Siblings”: Sunny, a miniature dachshund who is only a couple months older than Birdy.
Favorite things to do: Every morning Birdy runs in circles around the house. She loves her toys, and has at least one in her mouth at all times. She loves to go to the pool. She frequently goes to work with Ella at Companion Animal Care Center in Saltillo, where she hangs out behind the front desk. “If somebody’s here, she has to go say hey,” Ella said.
