These colorful cookies guarantee sweet smiles from everyone in the family.

Treat your kids to a surprise after-school snack, or welcome them into the kitchen to help with these sweet Monster Cookies. Made with oatmeal and almond flour, they are a more wholesome alternative to traditional M&M cookies but are still packed with plenty of yummy chocolate candies. Turn to page 34 for more fun recipes your kids can help make.
½ cup softened butter
¾ cup brown sugar
2 cups uncooked quick-cooking oats
½ cup almond flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup M&M’s and/or chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350°F. In a bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Beat in egg. Add oatmeal, almond flour, cinnamon, vanilla and salt, then mix until combined. Stir in M&M’s and/or chocolate chips. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, and bake until edges are golden, about 10-15 minutes.
