Updated: Dec 13, 2021
There’s nothing fancy about this pasta dinner, but it’s sure to satisfy the whole family, especially on a chilly evening at home.

Recipe and photo by Kimme Hargrove
1 pound penne pasta
1 (1 ½-pound) package frozen pre-made beef/onion hamburger patties, thawed
1 cup jarred pizza sauce (plus extra if needed)
½-1 cup chicken or beef broth
½ cup heavy cream
2 pinches ground nutmeg
Salt and pepper, to taste
Parmesan cheese, grated or shredded
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil, and cook pasta according to package directions.
Break apart hamburger patties into bite-sized pieces, and cook, stirring often, in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Pour pizza sauce, broth, cream and nutmeg over browned hamburger meat, and heat 5-8 minutes on medium until combined and heated through. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Drain pasta and stir into sauce. Add more pizza sauce or broth, if desired, for a thinner sauce. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top, and serve.
