Fresh citrus fruits are key ingredients in this special version of traditional sweet tea.
1-2 vanilla-flavored teabags
(try Harney & Sons Vanilla Comoro) 5 cups water, divided Juice of 7 blood oranges Juice of 1 lemon 1¼ cups sugar
In a mug or glass measuring cup, heat 1 cup water. Steep 1 or 2 tea bags in the hot water for 5-7 minutes.
In a decorative pitcher, combine hot tea with remaining water and the rest of the ingredients. Mix well. Allow to sit for a few hours for the best taste, and then serve cold in tall glasses over ice.
